The college season is really picking up steam as four alumni were in racing action this weekend.

Sean Gildea ('09) had an amazing run at the Colorado College Inviational, placing 3rd indivudually in a field of over 80 to complete the 8K race in 25:43 (at 6,000 feet no less!).  His Colorado School of Mines team dominated the competition, scoring just 20 points to win the invitational!  (Results) 

At the UC Riverside Invitational, Kevin Joerger of LMU ('10) and D.J. Smithers of Chapman ('10) were in the same massive race of 322 entrants representing 25 teams.  Kevin clocked a 25:09 in his first 8K race to place 43rd (4th on the LMU team) and help his team place 4th overall.  D.J.ran a 28:46 to place 268th representing Chapman. Finally, Evan Hillman ('09) competed for Occidential at the Aztec Invitational in San Diego.  Evan placed 20th in the 8K Open race with a time of 32:23 to help his team to a 4th place showing.  (Results)

Next Saturday the 25th is the Stanford Invitaional - one of the top college meets in the Country.  Allie Lopez ('09) of UCLA, Andrew Snyder ('09) of UC Irvine and Kevin Joerger ('10) of LMU will all be competing.  This will be a good one, be sure to check back next week.
